What about the romans? The romans got the reflex composite bow from sarmatians probably but romans copied many things from other tribes.

Of course brate Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know, the Romans copied or modified most of their military equipment from neighboring peoples such as the Celts, Iberians, Germanics, Greeks and many others.

That is true. Roman culture is greatly inspired by greek culture. They used and modified many items from neighboring tribes like reflex composite bow that I mentioned. I don't know when stirrups were brought to Europe. The only science that can answer this in 100% accuracy is archaeology. Avars used stirrups but not spurs. Franks used spurs. Someone brought this technology there before the avars. I think that stirrups emerged earlier in Europe but I am not sure. I will read som archaeological stuff on this and than I will reply. Maybe the Sarmatians introduced it first in Europe. They're influence stretched to the Carpathian basin. Who knows. I know something about spurs and the earliest archaeological findings are from the roman period.
And I didn't meant that the romans invented stirrups in Europe. They got it from some people that were skilled in horse riding and than they expanded it in most of Europe.
But yeah I know that scythian asked who brought it and not who spread it. So ignore the romans.

Me and my history professor have been engaged in a dialogue about who brought the stirrup into Europe. I always thought it was the Sarmatians who first introduced the stirrup to Europe. Does anybody know the answer? That is a very good question.
