Mongol spot = MARK OF THE BEAST Blue is the colored translation of the number 666! We are the hellspawn! And I am the anti-Christ! Huzzah! ... with a daughter next month who I am going to name "Heaven"... erm, nevermind. Hehe, ne ways if you are familiar with Christianity, this is an act I play often (Anti-Christ), cause I enjoy their reactions. My wife doesn't approve, which makes it even more fun! What I'm more curious about is how many generations before the spot is diluted into foreign genetics.

Some Hungarians borns with Mongolian spot. We are proud to our Asian origin. As I know there are many regions in Europe where from the Neolithic's autohtonous people has more or less Mongolian features ,even in Germany and France. Personally I cant remember if I had it or not

Greetings to all.
I became interested to know about this spot after knowing my Mongolian wife. I checked up with my mum and she said that all our siblings have this spot but soon disappear at the age of 2 or 3 year old.
Then I google about this spot and found out that it is exclusively appear on Mongolian, Korean, Chinese, Turk, American Indian and south east asian.
I guess being a Mughal with Mongolian and Turkish blood does make this spot appear on me too. But I still want to know about this mysterious spot.

It's just called "Mongolian spot" because it's often seen among the people of Mongoloid race, not because those people who have it orignate from "Mongols."

It's common, world wide and not exclusive.....
Caused by simple variations in pigment, Mongolian spots are much more prevalent in babies of color, appearing in more than 90 percent of Native Americans and children of African descent, more than 80 percent of Asians, and more than 70 percent of Hispanics. They are rare in fair-skinned children — appearing in just less than ten percent.
Blue-gray spots, commonly referred to as Mongolian spots, are large flat lesions that are usually found on the lower back or buttocks of infants at birth. They can occasionally be found on the legs or shoulders of infants, but this is less common. The color of blue-gray spots ranges from deep brown to slate gray or blue-black. They are caused by collections of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) located in a deeper layer in the skin and are the most common type of birthmark.

Yes. Thank you Tadamson, you covered it quite well. 90% of the people who have "Mongolian spots" don't have any relation to Mongols.
