I wonder why werent northern India turkiefied? there were many tribal migrations towards those areas still there is no turkic descent left?
Were there to few turkic settlers or didnt the population like strangers and they couldnt turkifie the area.

Because the number of Turks who lived in India was too few compared to the natives. There wasn't a mass-migration like those happened in Transoxiana, Iran, Caucasia and Anatolia. Even though there were some Turkic settlements in the very northern parts of India, they were also later assimiliated into the natives.

like our Qagan said, there were too few Turks, the only invaders from beyond the Indus that left some legacy in India were Afghans, like the Rohillas of Rohilkhand province, just North-East of Delhi at the foots of the Himalaya. incidentally though, Afghanistan itself does have major Turkic influences.

Indeed, because Afghanistan was just south of the River Oxus, plus no need to say that the northern part of the country, especially Tokharistan, is in fact South Turkestan ;D

Correct. Also, you must realize that the Moghul Mongol/Turks had already meshed with the many Afghan tribes, and those Afghan tribes has already meshed with northern Indian peoples. So they were all mixed and shared many aspects with each other. But, just remember that China never lost it's Confucian culture when it was captured by Kublai. In fact, Kublai and his Mongols become more like Chinese. Really large, confidant cultures have a tendency to be appealing to outsiders who do not have such an old tradition. The Germanic people all wanted to be Roman. In fact, Charles the Great had himself crowned Holy Roman Emperor. He wasn't a Roman! And I think it was Akbar, grandson(I think) of Babur who flirted with Hinduism. He loved Hindu mystics, and this really angered his Islamic contemporaries in the ruling Moghul class.
